Scottish Water's new water treatment works in Glencorse, Midlothian for the water supply to Edinburgh.Significant effort has been spent to disguise this building as it was on a greenbelt site adjacent to the Pentland Regional Park. The main buildings will have grass roofs and are sunken into the landscape.Water enters here from the Talla, Megget & Glencorse reservoirs. Some of the incoming water is powerful enough to spin a turbine which generates a third of the plants' energy requirment.Larger, high resolution photos are available of this & other places from this photographic flight.
